Finding the Perfect Nail Color

Honestly this one isn't crazy at all. It's probably one of the more fun things to do on my list before the wedding.

Since I was younger I was always into darker colors. Literally my favorite nail color is OPI "Midnight in Moscow" which they don't make anymore. IT SUCKS. But anyways, finding the perfect wedding nail color is difficult, at least for me. My dress is off white kinda like a champagne color and I have this image in my head but when I put the color on it doesn't live up to the expectations.

So far, I've only done two colors. I feel like I'm getting closer to the right color but not there yet. If anyone has any suggestions, THAT WOULD BE AMAZING.

But anyways, I find it fun because you not only get to pamper yourself, but your nails get to look AMAZING. It's also fun because you can make it a girls day with some friends, or just go hangout by the pool afterwards.  Another reason to start trying out different nail shades is to also figure out what nail shape you want, length, acrylic vs natural, etc. So give yourself that time and if your fiancee asks why you keep getting your nails done say its for the wedding DUHHHH. Gotta look good for that big day!

Wedding prep is hard, so find a way to not only relax but to also work on your wedding. Be sure not to neglect the little things!

Laser Hair Removal

Just to clarify, these are things that I have done before my wedding. I'm not saying you should do it, I am just telling you MY experience. (Also, no pictures were taken unfortunately to show the progress.)

Honestly, the only reason I did laser hair removal was due to Groupon. They had a laser hair removal coupon thing (not sure what they're called). Which made the price more manageable for a broke, post college graduated student. So if you do decide to get it done, then I would highly suggest a coupon of some sort or Groupon. I'm going to be honest, I went to a all girls high school and my fiancee is deployed 6 months out of the year, so shaving is NOT my first priority. Due to these facts, I got my underarms and bikini area done.  I thought I would be more nervous than I actually was. I'm the type of person that has a mini panic attack before a piercing or tattoo.

Day of:

I could not wax the month beforehand. Then the day of, I had to shave all the parts that were going to have the laser hair removal. Why? I honestly have no clue. Since I was getting my underarms done, they told me I could NOT be wearing deodorant and that if I did they would have wipes to take off the deodorant. Again WHY? I have no clue. You go check in, blablablah.

As I went to the back room to begin I did get a little more nervous. You lay down and they use this machine that blows air while they use the laser to make it less painful. Honestly, some places hurt less and then some hurt more. It was literally like a tattoo. Not bad but not uncomfortable. But to be fair, at times, it did feel like someone was dragging a piece of glass against my skin. It I know that doesn't sound pleasant at all BUT it's literally only for a few minutes.

From there you usually have 6-7 other sessions to ensure the prime effect. I went to 6 sessions and since then, the hair that does grow, is very fine and small. It's been about like 5 months since my last session and I have probably shaved my under arms twice. Granted, this is after 6 sessions. I did not really notice any difference after the first two sessions but then slowly but surely there was less and less hair. Makes going out at the spur of the moment much easier!

So all in all, I would say this was a good investment. One day, when I'm less broke, I plan on getting my legs done. However, that will probably not be for years.

Time to Cleanse

First blog post about crazy things I've done for my wedding!

I would say the cleanse is definitely the most outrageous. Why? Because I was literally a hangry mess for three days in a row of my own accord. Would I do it again? Most likely not. Not going to say absolutely not, because my best friend is pretty persuasive on getting me to do weird things with her. But I digress. I'm going to start from the beginning. (Note to readers, I did not take before and after pictures because unfortunately I am self conscious.)

My best friend and I decided to do a cleanse together. Long story short, I ended up doing the cleanse by myself. It's a pretty easy process where you can just find a place online and either go pick up the juices or have them sent to your house. I ended up going with Squeeze because I had a discount code. It wasn't too expensive, they delivered to my house, and had everything planned out from the day and order to drink them. Easy enough. The hard part? Not eating solid food for three days.

The bag it came in, and my intrusive dogs.

Day 1:

Day one was probably the easiest day. The juices weren't too bad and I was able to go along with my day. The hard part came when my mom decided to reheat her lunch and walk right past me with her delicious smelling food and all I could do was drink my juice. So, if you do a cleanse make sure you aren't near a microwave or anyone that has amazing smelling food. I made it through Day 1 though! I felt on top of the world and could do this for a whole week! Boy did day two kick my butt.

Side note: weirdest/ best juice was the charcoal lemonade. Favorite juice by far.

Day 2:

Day two was a whole different story. I drank my morning juice but then fell asleep for essentially the whole day. Missed the next three I was supposed to drink which threw me off and caused me to become a HANGRY MONSTER. The whole cleanse thing kind of went downhill from there. I would highly suggest, IF you do a cleanse to definitely look at the ingredients involved. Why? Because I absolutely detest celery which was used in Day 2 and Day 3. That night I may or may not have ended up eating a Harvest Salad from Local Foods (sorry not sorry).

Day 3:

As stated in Day 2, I hate celery. Literally EVERY. SINGLE. JUICE. had celery in it on Day 3. I would rather drink water and just starve than eat or drink celery. So Day 3 did not end well at all. I did notice my clothes were fitting better though which was nice but still not worth it. I love food too much. Day 3, I ended up drinking only half of the juices and then got a smoothie for dinner to try and even everything out.

Pros and Cons:

Pros: I did lose some weight but I'm pretty sure it was mainly just water weight and bloating from all the bread I eat. The one pro that I really liked is that it did curb my sweet tooth. Before this cleanse I was literally craving cake 24/7, like bad. After the cleanse I was able to say no to cake/ sweets and instead was craving healthy snacks like fruit.

Cons: No food, only juice. The ingredients aka celery. Only a subtle difference. The amount of protein in each bottle did not reach the amount of protein you should have in a single day. Honestly, a little expensive. Yet again, no food only juice.

Over all, It was an experience and I was semi able to accomplish it. However, I highly doubt that I will ever do a cleanse again. I did lose some weight but again it was just water weight. I did fit into clothes I hadn't fit into for some time, but as soon as I went back to solid food, the bloating came back. For those of you who want to do it, here are some of my suggestions.

- Slowly start preparing your body to be on a liquid diet. Maybe start with more salads, then move on to soup and then the juice. Cutting solid cold turkey is difficult because (at least in my case) my body craved solids.

- Check the ingredients!! I can not put enough exclamation points! They mix fruit and vegetables together so make sure you like everything in there. Or at least don't absolutely hate one of the ingredients because then you will not drink the juice and it will be a waste of your money.

- Check with your doctor or nutritionist to see if this is a good option for you. Yes, it can kick start weight loss and help with bloating. However, I do feel that I did not get enough protein from the juices. For me, that's fine because I do not work out and mainly stay indoors. But for someone who exercises, goes outdoors in the heat, and is active it could potentially be risky. There are much better ways of losing weight.

So all in all, it was an experience. Would I do a cleanse again? Most likely not. There are much healthier routes to take. Portion control, more fruits and veggies, lean meats, etc. There are better, and more cost efficient things out there.

(These are all my experience and opinions.)

Crazy Things I've Done For My Wedding

Hey ladies and (possible) gents!

I'm going to do a brief introduction of who I am and an overview for what I'll be blogging about the next few weeks!! I am so excited to share my Wedding Journey with you!

About me:

My name is Michelle and I am the Media Relations Manager for TeaseHTX. I'm the lady behind the camera at weddings, posting social media, sending requests for reviews, etc. I've been with Tease since January and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE my job. Meeting people, brides, organizing shoots, meeting Houston vendors, but most importantly seeing brides on their special day, and learning the Wedding business.

That's a brief description of my journey with Tease.

My fiancé and I met two and a half years ago, dated for two years and became engaged last September (OMG! Almost a year ago!!! Time flies). The kicker? He's in the military and we have literally only done long distance with him in Virginia and me here in Texas. So planning this wedding has been hard! Especially since he's been deployed the past 6 months. Despite that, our wedding is November 9th of this year and I can not wait to marry him. I'm the only child so I literally have no idea how to plan a wedding, prep, etc. Pinterest is my best friend, the Knot and Instagram have helped immensely, and lots of bridal magazines!!

My Fiancé and I

Some wedding prep that I'll be discussing

Juice Cleanse, Laser hair removal, facials, figure out the right nail color, etc!

I would do it all again except for one thing, THE JUICE CLEANSE. So, next week I will be doing the blog about my Juice Cleanse. So stay tuned on some Crazy and not so crazy things that I have done for my wedding!

Galveston Photoshoot

Do you ever just tell yourself I’ll do something tomorrow, tomorrow comes and NADA no work has been done? I’ve really been procrastinating on what to write for the month of July. I have things to write about but I can never bring myself to sit and write. So, for the month of August, I will be having our Media Relations Manager do stories on “Crazy Things I’ve Done for my Wedding.”

Today’s post will be about our Photoshoot that was shot back in June. It was a HOT summer day down in Galveston but the pictures turned out BEAUTIFUL. We originally planned to go up North to Blue Lagoon in Huntsville (if you haven't heard of it you should definitely look it up!). However, we ended up going to the Seawall and Downtown Galveston (another landmark you should go to). It was a long and tiring day but hopefully you have seen some of the images on our Instagram page. From the hair to the makeup, it was such an amazing shoot. Don’t believe it? Look at the pictures below!!

First stop:

Full of gorgeous mid to late 1800 architecture we started our day in Downtown Galveston! It made not only for a beautiful backdrop but also some nice shade from the warm summer day.

Gorgeous surroundings

Final stop!

What better place to shoot at then the beach!!! We were hoping the blue water would be there but unfortunately Galveston was back to its normal self. Still a fun time though.

Viereck Wedding

Hey lovelies!

This past month has been full of weddings and our very own photoshoot!! Which we can't wait to share with you.

Today's post is going to be about our lovely bride Jessica! From the moment I met her, she was a joy to work with. I absolutely loved working with Jessica. She was so down to earth, sweet, and we spent the entire process laughing.  I always think that my brides can't get any better, and then somehow they just continue to get better and better.  Just like that, Jessica was the image of grace and beauty as she was getting ready for her big day.

ABS Chicago 2018

Last week, Sammy and I had the privilege of going to the American Beauty Show in Chicago!! I had the opportunity to meet and hang out with a HUGE inspiration of mine: Jenny Strebe (@confessionsofahairstylist), I have been following her for years and shes one of my go-to's for looking at hairstyling videos on Youtube. She was so super sweet in person!

Arriving Saturday night, we took to the town and met our fellow volunteers for some coffee and drinks. Fast forward to Sunday and Monday we had the best time and met the most amazing people. We can't wait to go back next year for ABS 2019. Check out some of the awesome braid pics we have below!

Our Groovy Setup:

We had the pleasure of getting to work with some of the best braiders around at the Confessions Braid Bar sponsored by Salon Centric. All of the proceeds from our volunteer efforts were sent to "CUT IT OUT" a Pro Beauty Association in order to strengthen the fight against domestic violence!

The Lovely Ladies of Confessions Braid Bar:

What is "Cut It Out"? WELL, Cut It Out is a program dedicated to ending Domestic Abuse. You may ask, "Why would a salon professional/ hairstylist care about Domestic Abuse?" Good question. We are trying to build awareness and train our professionals to recognize the signs because as a hair stylist we get up close and personal with our clients. We are great listeners and earn the trust of our clients, because of this it is important to be able to not only recognize the signs but also, to know what the next step is.

If you have more questions on what "CUT IT OUT" is, head to  .

^I am absolutely in love with not only this clients hair color but also this braid!!! I can't get over it.

Words can not do this trip justice! I loved every single moment in Chicago. If you have any more questions about the CUT IT OUT movement or ABS feel free to email or message us! Any one of the TeaseHTX team would love to talk.

Cya next year American Beauty Show Chicago!

Today we'll be posting about our beautiful bride, Kaileen. The definition of Southern charm and elegance. This beautiful bride and her bridesmaids were a pleasure to work with. Everything about this wedding was just gorgeous! From the dress to the venue, all the way to the pictures, etc.

These lucky love birds tied the knot on March 3rd of this year! You could not have asked for better weather and/ or scenery for your wedding. We were in awe from the moment we got there. I couldn't even imagine getting married at this beautiful venue.

Why we're cruelty free!

Have you ever checked out the chemicals used in the products you use on a daily basis? Or what chemicals are in your everyday products?

Everyone has their own morning routine, one that is unique to each of us. A typical day consists of waking up, getting ready for work, and going through your day, right?  But have you thought about what your daily cosmetic routine consists of? To name a few things we use: face wash, moisturizer, toothpaste, makeup, shampoo and conditioner.  We all have that product that we absolutely love and MUST have. Have you checked to see what chemicals in it, or how it has been tested? What the process consists of that gets it to the shelf for you to buy?

The FDA (Food and Drug Administration) regulates a products safety by controlling what chemicals are used in the product. Products must go through certain trials to make sure they are suitable for human use. Most companies do such by testing using animals.  Why? Because it is cheaper to test on an animal as well disregard any moral qualms with injuring the subject. They inject harmless animals with chemicals to see the reaction it has on their body. If it harms the animal specimen than that chemical is a no go. The wanton disregard for the animals is known as animal cruelty. As a company, Tease believes this to be morally wrong and is why all of the products we use are cruelty- free. Our animals are a part of the family, so why would we want to inflict pain on them? The answer is we DON’T. We stand against Animal Cruelty and the companies that support such acts. If you still aren’t sure about converting to cruelty- free products than as yourself this, would you perform the same tests on a loved one of yours such as a child? If your answer is no, than start looking into cruelty free companies.

Do your research. Learn which companies and parent companies support animal testing. Try and find alternatives out there. Companies such as Urban Decay, Kat Von D, and Tarte are advocates for cruelty free products.

We at Tease are avid animal lovers! We love these little fur babies and this is why we are cruelty- free.

Check out sites such as for more information!

Wedding: Arianna Krajcer 11-4- 2017

Hey Lovelies!!!

My New Years resolution is to blog more! SO here's my first blog post of the year!!!

The first time we met this beautiful bride was at her trial run in Houston. She was such a joy to work with. Arriana's grandmother was there from out of town to watch the whole trial. We spent the whole time laughing at her grandmothers comments. They were such a joy to work with and it was definitely a trial run to remember.  Come wedding day the bridal party looked stunning. Arriana's makeup look for the wedding was large loose curls with a natural makeup look. The wedding dress was absolutely beautiful. The intricate lace and beading was just breathtaking. The wedding party opted for  a very light rose gold shimmer with large loose curls which matched their beautiful rose gold beaded dresses.

Overall it was a stunning wedding filled with laughter, love, and beauty. Such a joy to work with and a beautiful wedding.

BHLDN Sip & See

We were honored to be part of the first BHLDN Sip & See Event. We are a huge fan of the BHLDN (Anthropologie) brand, as they showcase a wide variety of bohemian style wedding/bridesmaid/formal event dresses. So when the store manager had called us we were so excited!

[Fun fact: BHLDN opened its first brick-and-mortar store in Houston in August 2011 ]

We did the hair and makeup on the models, and set up a mini braid bar in store while customers sipped on wine, and browsed all the dresses.

Wedding: Ashley - October 1, 2016

Hi Lovelies!

Some behind the scenes photos by me before Ashley and Brandon wed!

I absolutely loved working with Ashley, so sweet and kind. Ashley is a hairstylist herself (which was a little intimidating at first but we worked through it!). She had a custom made flower crown and wheat bouquet. Her wedding was in a gorgeous venue in Alvin, TX: Oakwind Bed and Breakfast

Here are some of the styles of the bridesmaids and Ashley.

  • Bride hair and makeup: Nastassia Loya
  • Bridesmaids makeup: Myra from M&M Artistry
  • Bridesmaids hair: Nastassia

It was such an honor to be a part of Ashley's special day. I cannot wait to see the pictures of her in her dress at her ceremony and reception.

Thanks for reading!

Jocelyn and Bens Wedding at Julia Ideson Library - April 23, 2016

Summer is almost fully upon us y'all!

Here we share one of the most gorgeous weddings we had the honor to be part of. Sweet Jocelyn had a huge bridal party filled with her closest friends and family. We also were so lucky to have done Jocelyn's hair and makeup a few times before her wedding for her engagement and bridal parties.

Congrats to you both, Ben and Jocelyn, hope you have a beautiful life in Philly!

Nadia Married! - January 9, 2016

We were lucky enough to have done the hair, makeup and photography for Nadia's wedding reception!

Nadia chose very simple eye makeup looks for her wedding and reception day, and bold lips, fresh, dewy skin.

  • Face:  Dinair airbrush makeup in Golden Tan, Morphe blush palette, Anastasia Beverly Hills highlighter in So Hollywood, NYX Cosmetics Contour Kit, It Cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye concealer in Tan.
  • Eyes: Inglot Pure Pigment #75 , Tarte Cosmetics liquid clay paint liner
  • Lips: Bride requested to use her own lipstick

Holiday/Fall-Winter Look

We are having post holiday weekend withdrawals! It was a hot Christmas Day in Houston this year. Nastassia wears her holiday look but can be translated into an everyday event! The dress can be paired with a blazer for a work fall/winter look.

  • Morphe 35N Palette: These are excellent quality for the price, so pigmented.
  • Tarte Tarteist Clay Paint Liner: Best liner I have used ever, it comes with a brush, and it is the blackest eyeliner and gives you such a precise line.
  • Morphe Eyebrow Palette: (Decided to try this out, it is nice but definitely want to invest in the Anastasia Beverly Hills Eyebrow palettes for our clients.)

Favorite Product - Lush: Angels on Bare Skin Facewash

I have not tried a Lush product till I visited their store in Sugar Land this past weekend. I've heard great things about the Angels on Bare Skin face wash and wanted to try it for myself.
I loved that they are against animal testing and all their products are hand made.

I've been using this face wash for about week (morning and night) and I definitely feel the difference. My skin feels very soft and hydrated. This face wash is perfect for combination skin and it has slight exfoliation properties for an even complexion.

Here is a step by step on how to use the product:

Makeup Look - The Perfect Red Matte Lipstick

As an avid animal lover, I am starting to shift all my makeup products to cruelty-free. Kara and I decided to make this change for our business as well.
After doing a lot of research, we have compiled a great list of makeup brands that are cruelty-free / all natural / vegan, as we need to choose makeup that would last any weather or conditions for our bridal clients (sweat and tear proof). It was somewhat a challenge since all the products we loved were MAC or Makeup Forever!

I am so impressed with this NYX Cosmetics Perfect Red Matte Lipstick, the color is perfect for any skin tone and the longevity amazed me!

We are so excited to use these products on our clients!

All the details from this look is listed below:

Eyes: Urban Decay Naked Palette - Virgin, Naked, Buck | Face: Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Fluid Foundation in SF13 , Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit in Medium/Tan, Kevyn Aucoin blush in Berry | Highlight: Laura Gellar Baked Gelato in Ballerina & Becca Cosmetics Shimmering Skin Perfector in Topaz | Lips: NYX Cosmetics Matte Lipstick in "The Perfect Red" | Bellami Hair Extensions - Bellissima (wearing 2 wefts - this set comes with a lot of hair!)
