Hey there!
Today’s topic is a tough one: should you wash your hair before your hair and makeup appointment/wedding day/if you are in a wedding? Short answer is YES!
10 days before a wedding, we send out a list of guidelines to our brides, and one important item is for the bridal party to have freshly washed DRY hair before their appointment.
We all know the one girl that just “knows” her hair and will show up with 5 day unwashed hair because it will curl better (if this is you, we get it, but have a little faith in us!) This will not only cause you to have extra products in your hair, giving you gross, crunchy texture, it will inevitably change the end result of your Pinterest worthy recreation.
If you show up with clean, dry hair, as recommended, we will not only appreciate that you trust our process, but we can make your hair “dirty” with the correct product to help hold. Not to mention, you can keep the beautiful hair for more than just the night.
Here are our favorite products for getting that grit in your hair to have the best volume and hold:
Spray onto each section and curl or wave. Make sure to finish with a texturizing paste. Also! Do not douse your hair in the spray. Less is always more!
Also, if your hair is naturally silky smooth, try adding baking soda to your shampoo and very little conditioner the day before your appointment. It really works!
What are your thoughts? What are your issues when you curl your hair? We are here to help!
